Thomas W. Ellison, MD, FAAP
Dr. Ellison received his Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of Tennessee Knoxville in 1974 and his Medical Doctorate from the University Of Tennessee College Of Medicine in Memphis in 1977. He completed his residency in Pediatrics at the Brooke Army Medical Center, Fort Sam Houston, Texas. Dr. Ellison is a Board Certified Diplomat of the American Board of Pediatrics. He served as a pediatrician in the US Army at Ft. Irwin, CA; Ft. Carson, CO; and Ft. Benning, GA. He has served the Columbus area since 1983 and in private practice since 1987.
He is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Academy of Pediatrics (Georgia Chapter), the Medical Association of Georgia, and the Muscogee County Medical Society. He serves on the Pediatrics Faculty at Piedmont Columbus Regional and is an affiliate member of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Dr. Ellison retired as a Lieutenant Colonel from the Army Reserve.
Dr. Ellison enjoys woodworking, golf, and spending time with his family. He is married to Charlene Wolfe Ellison and has two sons, John and Matthew, a daughter Laura, and five grandchildren
